"Cielito Lindo", 2001

I got the idea for the punch line before I knew the name of the song. It was only after listening to the excellent "Bravo! Brubeck" album that I discovered the real title to the "Frito Bandito" song, which was written by Quirino Mendoza y Cortez. The foliage here was taken from photographs of the grounds of the apartment complex where I lived at the time. The old guitar belonged to my great aunt and uncle, and now is mine.
